If you’re the leader your team will absolutely know, without a doubt, if you purchased GeneWize Academy. Even if you lie about it. And both of those things will duplicate. I’ve never owned my own business before but I thought education and training was really expensive. My friend owns a Subway and it cost him like $30,000. He’s just joined me in GeneWize because he’s not making any money. I think $399 is too cheap! $95 is ridiculous… Why are they doing that? I don’t think people will get the value. I don’t make that much and I’m glad it’s only $399 don’t get me wrong, but most businesses charge much more. Jim from Detroit

I have not bought into a dream…this is a business, and if I want to be successful I need to work the business full on…whether it is a part-time or full-time business for you…you need to be serious about growing your business.
In order to be successful you do need to be duplicatable and the GeneWize Academy is going to give me the tools to be a good leader…the great thing is that everyone you sign up becomes a leader! that’s why this Academy is so important!!

I think all current affiliates should have been grandfathered in, I don’t think its right to change the rules for the people already playing. I understand about the training and do believe we should all get it, but come on they should have only required these to the new affiliates. After the $95 what next? Another $100 just because they can? What! Don’t like it get out? Give Me A Break!!! Stop defending them and be honest with your replies!!
By the way great video Tom and please don’t take my comments personal, it’s just the way I feel.
I agree with the comment from “not happy.” Those of us that came on board in the summer before product was even being shipped should definitely be grandfathered in.
I’m signed up for the Academy because it’s always good to learn and to be prepared for the new people. But I’m also not totally happy with the charges.
We also got told back in June 08 that my husband and I get the products for free when we have 8 people signed up. We had 9 people and I never got my product for free. I suddenly became a customer and got told to wait, because GW has to change the system and get back to the promises they made before the launch. We are still waiting…………………..and paying!
But I’m sure to be at the right place, with the right company and the right product, which is great.

I just started in 1-09…….and have 30 people in my group already. One of the biggest challanges has been to get them trained on the newest and best way to do business on the Internet. WOW……I am sooo happy about the GWA. I have paid over $2000USD for my Internet training over the last 2 years………and it was Generic. This is specific training on how to make MONEY with GeneWize. Awesome and I won’t be spending my precious time teaching my leaders……..they will be trained for me by the best.
No complaints about the cost…….my goal will be to promote the NEW Business Pack.
Where in the world can you get an excellent business for only $499? And this is really $842 value……….so listen up. In this economy that is a small price to pay for the huge earning potential for those willing to do the WORK……..and I for one have found this the easiest business I have ever done………..Thanks for all you are doing to bring us the best tools to do it.

Dear Tom,
I joined in June 2008, as a two-star founding affiliate. Still being legally bound to my previous company’s consultant agreement until Feb. 28, 2009, I can not participate or even renew until March 1, 2009. However, after shelling out in June 2008 and expected six months later to renew again, I thought was a little greedy on the companies part. I’m not new to network marketing and other companies offer training whether the term is Academy or University FREE to their affiliates or consultants to enhance their business skills and the true longevity of the “Baby” the company. During these economic times it’s becoming apparent that GeneWize corporate is making a poor business decision by charging for educating their affiliates. From what I hear affiliates are having difficulties even attracting customers regardless of the Enroll 4 Pay No More benefit from just the public’s ignorance regarding DNA testing, explaining to potential affiliates why we’ve been in Pre-Launch for over 7 months due to CA and NY. Those two states alone set the trends for the United States.
Sorry Tom, don’t take this personally … but the Academy should just have been an added as a benefit to our back office for free training. They always speak of protecting the “Baby” meaning GeneWize then why does it seem their choking the “baby”. It’s a bad move it’s becoming way to competitive no matter how great the products.
I’m with those above in saying this should be grandfathered for those of us that got in the first six months.
I don’t care for “do this now for $95, before it goes up to $399.”

In 1978, I began a 20 year career as an executive recruiter. I chose a firm that was national in scope and had an extensive video training series. The first year I was with that firm to that occurred. Number one, I was in the office virtually every morning and hour and a half before anyone else and I virtually memorized some 30+ videotapes that laid the foundation for my entire career. My first year that national organization I went to the regional rookie of the year and each of my next four years I was one of the top 10 producers nationwide. To this day I still use lessons from those tapes.
After 10 years of happy retirement, I was through the roof with excitement when I am unretired to join GeneWize at this past June. And I must say I am even more excited now than I was then. What my 20 year career in executive recruiting, the last 15 of which I own my own firm, taught me was that an absolute firm foundation and extensive knowledge of your company, your service and your product was the essential first step toward success. I also learned that you can never stop learning. Your growth as an individual, as a producer and as a leader demanded constant growth.
With our new packages in our new training, GeneWize will continue to be the most successful nutritional product launch in history.
I think it is wrong to charge us $95 for training.
The buy it now, used car sales technique because it wil be 399 is even more insulting.
It would have been nice to just have new content added by member on a training site.
Now we’re talking, looks like we’re getting the true feelings out, not just trying to justify what they are doing to make the down line feel better or follow.
What happens to the two stars we got for joining early?
What you get for the $95.00 is Great Stuff, but come on get real and true about adding insult to injury when they give you a time period to do it or it will go up.
Grandfathered!! Grandfathered!! Grandfathered!! Grandfathered!! Where do we post our concerns so they can be heard?
We don’t want to over well Tom’s post with concerns.
Not Happy, but what can you do when you have put so much time and money into it.
I haven’t purchased the training yet, but I am going to. The training looks like it will be packed full of usefull information. I have been in for 6 months and probably been around most of the information. But just maybe something in the training will be said a different way than how I heard it before and I will get value from it then.
I think it is about time we have a training like this to pass down to new affiliates. Lets get people trained right the first time. The only thing I don’t care for is the package that can be purchased with out the training. I am afraid that some will come in looking at the $200 savings and won’t realize the value in the extra $200 cost.

Lets quit whining and treat this like a business. The reality is that it is a small price to pay for the opportunity to possibly learn something – that could help to grow your business and to help you be able to help others in a more uniform way.

There is nothing to grandfather you into. GeneWize Academy is a product that you buy.
If you believe it has value, you buy it. If you don’t believe it has value, you don’t. It’s $95 for the next two weeks then it goes up to $399.
For those of you (below) who don’t like the ‘pressure’ to buy before the the price goes up you’re looking at it backwards. The company dropped the price for YOU. There is no pressure to get it. There is an opportunity, if you want it. They could have just kept it at $399 and not dropped the price… is that what you’d have preferred?
For those of you (below) who think it should be free, I can appreciate good negotiating. There are two problems, however. First, people take things that are free for granted. If you buy it, you’re much more likely to study it. Not you. Other people. Second, It costs tens of thousands of dollars to shoot, edit, produce and deliver the product.
The reason I posted my receipt above is because I want you to know that this is so important and so valuable that I didn’t delay. I bought it. You don’t have to duplicate me, but I would suggest that if you do you’re going to get more success faster.

We should just take it and smile:) It’s easy for you producers who are making money to say how $95.00 is nothing, but for us at the bottom it’s not. Why don’t you top producers making money from US volunteer to give up commission to pay for our $95.00 Ouch Now It Hurts!

I should say it again. Wow.
$95 for training and people think it should be free. Wow. There is a TON of training available within GeneWize for free. GWA is a product…which you can CHOOSE to purchase. it’s NOT a requirement.
Is it necessary to build your business. No. Will it help tremendously for you and your group. Yes.
I was about the 22nd affiliate to join GeneWize back in early May. I paid $999. Do I feel entitled to get GWA for free, or any other training for that matter. Absolutely not. I am an avid lifelong learner and feel that valuable information always should always have a value exchange. In this case it’s a few hundred bucks.
Being here from the beginning, I have lived through every decision from corporate. Some I have liked, some I haven’t. If I wanted to like them all, I would have had to start GeneWize myself as this will never happen with someone else in charge…ever. With that said, the changes and addition of GWA and the Essentials product are the best yet. They are huge.
When you understand how these two changes impact our income and the quality of affiiliates in the field, you will get it. They are incredibly positive changes.
Sometimes, as business people, you have to look past “how this effects me personally,” to “how this effects everyone on my team and everyone in the company.”
Those who know me, especially Tom (we have been friends for about a decade), know that I am as far from a “Yes man” as you can possibly get. I have been outspoken about a ton of GW decisions. Scotty Kufus used to call me as his litmus test when changes happened.
Tom, I congratulate you and the rest of the team on this one. For me, this is the real launch of GeneWize and will make things so much easier and will have a huge impact on people’s businesses. Thanks!

I still believe the Genewize product is Great, but we need to show them we’re all a team and together.
My Idea is lets all STOP Auto Ship for 48hrs to show Genewize the disapproval on their decision. Just 48hrs we’re not quitting just flexing our muscles.

I am fairly new to MLMs, network marketing, and internet marketing. I can tell you I am spending a lot of money to learn about all of them on my own. It is true that if the company is going to benefit from it’s reps being qualified to sell the product it should be free or at the very least inexpensive. It all comes back to them in the end but, we will earn much more having the tools to recruit new reps…so it all works out I think.
If it’s not a requirement to progression then I think it is fair to offer the training at a reasonable price. If you think you can create a product ,just as good, on your own then do that, but I’m sure you will waste many hours and much money…and still not have as good of a product.
I think $95 is a reasonable amount of money to pay for the training…$400 is a little steep and is going to be a hard sell for people who come in later. I’m sure if people don’t purchase it at the $400 rate the company will lower the price because it is in the company’s best interest to have all it’ reps qualified to market their product.
This is a great opportunity for us all and we are going to have to do what we have to do to be successful. It will all work itself out in the end. Be happy and excited to be apart of such a growing organization and make decisions that are best for you. I’m sure the package is definitely worth the price of $400 and you shouldn’t feel that you are getting the shaft. A product that offers all this one does is worth at the very least $400.

True feelings aren’t always right feelings.
All the bonuses you got for joining early and the $95 price and the enroll 4 and pay no more bonus, and everything else are part of the business. Just because you want more than what they give you doesn’t mean you are right about that.
In network marketing, there are three camps with every new announcement:
1. I Love It — thank you for giving us so much for so little — These are usually successful people who understand what it takes to succeed in business.
2. I Hate It — we deserve more — These are usually people who have never had success in business and have a sense of entitlement.
3. I’m Not Sure — can you explain more — These are the people who have a chance at success. They are open to creating a mindset of personal responsibility, dedication, and personal wealth.
This discussion is for the #3 group. As you consider whether you want to get GeneWize Academy and duplicate the $499 package throughout your organization, consider which side of success you want to be on.

If you think of yourself as an employee, that is our fault. We should have educated you more about being in business. Let me do my best.
Job — set income
Business — unlimited income opportunity
Job — set hours
Business — set your own hours
Job — do what your boss says
Business — you are the boss. Hire people if you want (here you don’t have to)
Job — earn your pay as long as you don’t get fired
Business — earn what you deserve
Job — we pay for your training, we take most of the income
Business — you pay for your training, you take most of the income
I understand now why this is difficult for some of you. Unfortunately, everything about business is going to be difficult for you if you think of this as a job.
Think of yourself as the CEO of your own company. You’re lucky because you don’t need any employees and your overhead is very low. Also, you can find other people who want to be independent from you and become the CEO of their business and you’ll get paid a percentage of the business they generate.
This IS the ultimate business if you think like a business owner. This is an incredibly frustrating job if you think like an employee.
Both thinkings are valid. One earns you a living. The other earns you a fortune.

Here’s what you’ll either take from this discussion or you wont.
GeneWize took very careful consideration in creating this product, pricing it and rolling out to the field. They did survey’s and focus groups and took an extra month to release it to make sure everything was the best it could be.
They know you can’t please everyone, but by the looks of things on this discussion it’s one outspoken ‘thumbs down’ against 20 passionate ‘thumbs up’.
GeneWize offered GeneWize Academy for YOU. They don’t need it. They do it so you can be successful. They do it so you can change your mindset and go from earning a paycheck to building wealth. They want you to be rich.
All I can ask is that you stick around the successful people long enough for them to rub off on you. Your thinking determines your wealth more than anything else you do.

Tammy…. you’ve been a consultant for another company. Was all their training free? If the training was in a hotel room no one would complain about the price because they see there is a hotel room that has to be paid for. Well there is way more than a hotel room that has to be paid for here. Training is expensive… and its worth it. I’d rather have 10 people who buy the training and go to work, than 100 people who get it for free. No offense taken. An open discussion helps clarify the importance of mindset in creating wealth. It’s $399 and they dropped the price for you but they can’t do it forever. Not railroaded. Discount ticket on the train if you want it.
They are not charging you like you have no say in it.
It’s a product that you can buy if you want it. The price is 399. There is a discount for you for two weeks.
When someone does something nice for you and you take it as an insult, you may want to rethink your thinking.
In business you pay for your own education, marketing tools and product. That a downside if you’re used to getting everything given to you as an employee. The upside is that your income potential is unlimited. You can earn way more than you can as an employee. And in this case your income is passive residual income.

i have been an internet marketer for 14 years, but this is my first venture into network marketing. I joined Genewize was at the launch in July 2008 and can honestly say it has been very educational and i like my chances of success.
The biggest weakness i see with prospects and newcomers in MLM is a lack of training and poor training. This in my opinion leads many people down the road to failure. i appreciate the fact that genewize is trying to address this flaw in network marketing and is willing to take action to help new and struggling business owners become successful.
When i need to learn something to enhance my marketing skills i go out and find the best training sources I can and buy it.
To be a successful marketer in today’s ever changing and fast moving internet age you must be willing to continuously be learning and upgrading your skills. In 14 years of internet marketing i have spent thousands on training. If i found value in it i applied it, if not, i tossed it.
To get top training from top people you must be willing to pay for it. There are no scholarships for home business owners.
My advice is that if you see value in this training program and feel it will make you a better network marketer, buy it. If you don’t, take a pass.
I personally believe that there is value in this program and $95 is a steal if it can make me a better network marketer and put money in my pocket,. People should look at training as an investment not a liability.
i will buy this training before the price goes up and if I see value in it I will promote it to my new affiliates regardless of the price tag.
